Jonathan

Jonathan's family background is steeped in brass band music. All his family have been members of The Salvation Army, where they have learnt to play/sing from an early age.

Jonathan is well known within brass band circles having conducted many bands throughout the country.  A former Principal Trumpet of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, Jonathan studied Trumpet and Conducting at the Royal Northern College of Music.

He has been Bandmaster of Enfield Citadel Band, one of the Salvation Army's premier bands since January 2009, and conducts bands throughout the country including Cwmaman Institute, Llanrug, Royal Buckley, Haydock, Tullis Russell Mills, Besses o' th' Barn Brass Band and Strabane Concert Brass and at present works with the Welwyn Garden City Band in Hertfordshire.
Away from conducting, Jonathan works within music education for services such as the City of Belfast School of Music, Southern Education and Library Board, South Eastern Education and Library Board and Havering Music Service, by day he is Brass Co-ordinator for Brent Music Service and is brass professor/rehearsal conductor for the National Youth Orchestra of Ireland.
He is in demand as a guest conductor to various Salvation Army music schools/workshops and contesting bands and is relishing the challenge of fusing together brass band conducting together with his other interest, classic motorcycles.
 
Jonathan owns a 1964 Lambretta LI 125, 1959 NSU Quickly S and a 1989 Suzuki GSX 750F. His father owns a 1963 Lambretta LI 125 and Jonathan has previously owned a 1964 NSU Quickly S-23 and a 1961 Royal Enfield Crusader Sports.
